The Journey
Why rush? Our **4-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour** allows you to connect the two imperial cities at a perfect pace. Instead of long days in the car, we stop more often to explore hidden Berber villages, meet local nomads, and truly enjoy the silence of the Sahara. From the High Atlas to the Middle Atlas, this is the complete Moroccan road trip.
Day 1: Atlas Mountains & Dades Valley
We depart from Marrakech and head across the Tizi n'Tichka pass. We spend the morning exploring the legendary Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah before moving toward Ouarzazate. The day ends in the lush Dades Valley, famous for its "monkey fingers" rock formations and winding roads. Overnight in a traditional riad.
Day 2: Todgha Gorge to Merzouga Dunes
After breakfast, we head to the Todgha Gorges, walking under 300-meter cliffs. We then continue toward Merzouga. Upon arrival at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, you’ll trade your car for a camel and trek into the golden sands for sunset. Enjoy a night of Berber music and dinner at a luxury camp.
Day 3: Desert Exploration & Nomad Life
A full day to soak in the Sahara. We explore the dunes by 4x4, visit the Gnaoua musicians in Khamlia, and sit with a Nomad family to learn about their resilience. This extra day ensures you aren't exhausted and can enjoy the desert's peace. Second night in a riad at the dunes' edge.
Day 4: Ziz Valley, Middle Atlas & Fes
The final leg takes us north. We cross the stunning Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas mountains. We’ll stop at the Cedar Forest of Azrou to see the Barbary macaques and visit Ifrane, the "Little Switzerland" of Morocco. We reach Fes in the early evening, dropping you at your riad in the Medina.
